ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

Began in the Fall of 2019 under the Service Learning Project for Missouri Southern's Honors students, this website started as an endeavor to improve upon the immediate community. Our goal is to answer a need for resources in a digital space for Southwest Missouri that has a lack of information for both LGBT members and their family that may be searching for information that cannot be found elsewhere.

Sourced on Missouri Southern's college campus, the creator is a strong member of MSSU's GSA club as well as Joplin Pride. You can find many events happening in the area being promoted on the front page, along with highlights of new articles to come in answer to requests made by viewers.

STAFF

Michelle Borr

Michelle is the founder of Joplin LGBT Resource center and is a member of the LGBT community. She hopes that this answers the desperate need for resources, but also understands that a one person team cannot answer every need by the community. Her future aspirations is to create a physical LGBT center on Missouri Southern's campus, in addition to starting a clothing drive for transgender youth.
